When the hill becomes a mountain

June 15, 2012 by JohnCronin Leave a Comment

As previously mentioned, Moel Famau isn’t quite high enough to be classed as a mountain. But as site reader M A Cameron points out there’s a sort-of solution: once there are 91 people at the summit, you’ve got the extra 182 feet needed for Moel Famau to become a mountain 🙂

Love your thinking MA Cameron. It’s always been my personal mountain 🙂

I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THE SAW MILL ON MOEL FAMAU HAS SUBMITTED PLANS TO DENBIGHSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL TO EXPAND YET AGAIN. HOW LARGE WILL THIS PREVIOUSLY SMALL COTTAGE INDUSTRY BE ALLOWED TO GROW ? THE INCREASE IN THE VERY LARGE LOG WAGONS AND THE RISING VOLUME OF THE SCREACHING OF THE SAWS IS SPOILING THIS COUNTRY PARK AND AREA OF OUTSTANDING NATURAL BEAUTY. PEOPLE VISIT MOEL FAMAU FOR PEACE AND WILDLIFE , NOT FACTORY NOISES AND DODGING LORRIES.
